THE ACTUALLY IMPORTANT FINE PRINT

Terms of the experiment.

Murphy's Million is an independent, voluntary internet experiment. A contribution is not a charitable donation, investment, raffle entry, emergency appeal or purchase of goods. Contributions go to the operator of Murphy’s Million. It does not promise a financial return, prize or ownership interest.

Your Murphy Number

Each verified transaction may claim one commemorative digital Murphy Number. The same person or payment email may participate again using a separate completed transaction. The number and card have no cash value, are not transferable, and come with no promise of resale value. Numbers are issued from available inventory, including previously skipped numbers.

Verification and fair use

Ko-fi and legacy PayPal link claims must match an eligible payment and require verification of a code sent to the email recorded with that payment. Manual review cannot skip email ownership. PayPal Checkout payments are verified against the PayPal order and capture. Each completed transaction can be used only once. Duplicate, fraudulent, abusive or unverifiable claims may be rejected or revoked.

Gift a place

A confirmed gift payment provides one private claim link for one new Murphy Number. No specific number or collectible design is reserved. The number is issued from available inventory when the recipient claims, chooses their details and accepts the terms. Keep the link safe and send it to the intended recipient: whoever first successfully claims it becomes the holder. A claimed number cannot be transferred through the gift link.

Gift checkout uses the buyer’s payment details. The recipient chooses their own name, email and public-wall permission. The buyer cannot open the recipient’s dashboard through checkout recovery. A suspended, reversed or disputed payment may require owner review before a gift can be claimed. For a lost gift link, contact support with your PayPal reference.

Community participation and updates

Community polls and published story updates are free to follow. Polls use browser-based voting limits; extra payments do not buy votes. Published results reflect recorded votes and may guide future content, without guaranteeing a specific release or timeline.

Episode and milestone emails are optional and require separate email confirmation. You can unsubscribe at any time. Updates do not change your permanent number or promise prizes, financial rewards or future paid benefits.

Payments and refunds

Payments are handled by Ko-fi or PayPal. Contributions should be treated as non-refundable unless the payment platform or applicable law requires otherwise.

Availability

The site, verification services and downloadable cards are provided as available. Temporary outages or third-party payment delays may happen; open My Murphy after service returns to recover your existing number. PayPal payments that cannot be verified automatically may require manual review.

Invitations and the quiz

Personal invitation links count verified numbers issued through the link. Visits do not count, and invitations do not earn commissions, prizes or other rewards. The Murphy quiz is for entertainment. Its result does not determine the collectible design issued with your permanent number.
